Felice Hrovat was born in Trieste, Italy. His passion for expressing himself through paint and brushes, on canvas, started as a teenager in his homeland. In his early twenties, he immigrated to Montreal, Canada, and later to Southern California where, while developing his talent, he also worked as a commercial artist for over thirty years. During the last fifty years he has been inspired to master a very unique style and technique using oils and acrylics as his artistic mediums. Since his retirement in 1991, he has dedicated most of his time in his studio further developing his painting style and experimenting with color and composition. In 1993, he began conducting oil painting workshops for aspiring artists and fellow seasoned professionals who share his passion. His commitment explains the continual accolades in major art shows of People’s Choice Awards, First Place recognitions, and Best of the Show Award from the San Gabriel Fine Art Association, and City of Norco Western Art Show & Sale “Art of the American West” (2003, 2004, 2005). During his recent years, his works include: (2003) The Arcadia Chamber of Commerce commissioned Felice to paint a scene from the Arboretum for the Arcadia Centennial Taste Around Arcadia poster. (2003, 2004) He was commissioned for the cover of Clarke Mini Phone Books for the San Gabriel Valley cities from Pasadena to the Inland Empire with various scenes of landmarks and city scenes specific to each town. (2004) StudioMA Office Designers, Calabasas, CA, ordered over 40 special pieces for a 50,000 square foot professional suite. (2004) His work appeared on the cover of the Monrovia Chamber of Commerce Membership Directory & Community Profile. (2004, 2005) He has painted private works depicting homes and churches at the request of their owners or as charitable fund raiser donations.
